MISSION STATEMENT
Western Reserve Community Cooperative, Inc., (WRCC) is a not-for-profit, democratically owned business, where members pay a one-time membership fee to join. When the fee is paid the member’s status is “member in good standing” and is entitled to all privileges and given the chance to vote on issues requiring a vote by the membership. Members are expected to help the day-to-day operation of the cooperative.
Our top goal is to supply to the regional community organic foods while supporting local growers who have certified organic produce. While the growing season is limited in this locale, we also provide organic fruits and vegetables year round.
Another goal is to educate the consumer through our sister corporation Western Reserve Educational Extension, Inc. differentiating between eating organic foods versus conventional foods; why organic foods are better for them, better for agriculture and better for the environment.
Finally, through Western Reserve Community Cooperative, Inc., we are anticipating helping consumers in their choices of food and demonstrate proper food handling and preparation of their chosen food items.
